Refrigerant R-22 is considered dangerous to the environment and it’s production is banned by most countries including the US. TE Certified highly recommends replacing any unit with R-22 gas especially when a leak is present. We do have options for extending the life of an R-22 system, but the eventual outcome is replacement.
