Called out for possible smoke coming from heat pump. System is going on 15 years. Could not kick on defrost mode from defrost control board. Dye in refrigerant loop and homeowner said someone had recharged the unit. Pressures went up 572psi. The 15kw heat strips are not working and are ties into a 60 amp breaker running off 50amp breaker. Electrical is coming out to do repairs and asked if they would quote running a designated circuit for 15 kw heat strips. There is biological growth in the air handler as well as the outside of the area. Recommended having inside clean and adding up protection with 20x20x1 carbon filter. Options have been left to remidiate and recommendations to schedule replacement options is also advised.
